Johnny's Sport Shop is a 60 year old family owned and operated business. As evident by our 5 star Yelp rating, our customer service is unprescedented for any retail business. We fix/service rods, reels and lures. We sell over 20 different types of live and frozen baits. ALL of the latest gear, as well as many old products, some of which are not even sold anymore. We have a huge inventory of Mitchell Reel parts and service these on a regular basis. We even have new handles, housings, and other new parts, to make your old Mitchell look brand new.

What sets Johnny's apart from the rest is their unrivaled knowledge of fishing that is passed down through our employees AS WELL AS our customers. We will not only sell you the appropriate equipment/tackle but will go above and beyond to make sure you know which technique to use. Please come by and see for yourself. We sell redworms for composting, many art supplies, and tools and gadgets to help you out around the house as well.

Established in 1954.

In the early fifties after WWII, Johnny relocated his family to Pasadena on the corner of Lincoln Ave. and Washington Blvd. The family ran a local neighborhood market next to the house where they lived. As a side business, Johnny followed his true passion of fishing by selling advice and tackle out of his garage. It didn't take long before Johnny's wife, Itsy (current partner of the business today) kicked his operation out of the garage. Johnny and his friends built the existing store that sits at its current address for $6, 000.00. Throughout the years as the kids in the family grew up, Johnny and Itsy sold camping gear, Barbie dolls, backpacks/school supplies, sporting goods, guns, team apparel, letterman jackets and of course fishing tackle. Local legends Jackie Robinson and Michael Cooper purchased their Converse shoes here at that time. Beginning in the 80's the store sold exclusively fishing tackle where it continues to thrive. Johnny's now has some 4th generation customers

What is the best sports bar to watch football in Pasadena, CA?

Barney's Beanery without a doubt.  Great ambiance, a lot of big screens at the bar, and smaller tv's at all the tables.  Has an upstairs and a downstairs, with a couple pool tables, foosball, air hockey, and darts.
There's also a couple of other bars that have football-watching atmosphere - 72 North (used to be McMurphy's), and Ixtapa (next door to Barney's, used to be Moose's).
There's also a Q's right above Barneys that has even more pool tables, although not as good of a game-watching atmosphere
If you're looking for more of a dive atmosphere in which to watch your football, try th…
