Home Goods Black Friday
Dyson vacuums will drop to $199, and general sales will slash up to 80% off.
It's time to look at Black Friday's most hotly anticipated category of consumer products: light bulbs!
Okay, so purchases for the home might not be the sexiest things to buy during this monster shopping season. But you could potentially save hundreds on some big ticket items, including vacuums, washing machines, power tools, and kitchen appliances. And as with many items on Black Friday, they see their best prices of the year during this time.
So what prices can you expect to pay on items for the home this Black Friday? Check out our predictions below, then consider signing up for the DealNews Select newsletter to keep track of the latest deals in your inbox, or download our app to have them at your fingertips.
More — And Better — Deals Than Any Other Time of Year
Black Friday clearly shows a big bump in Editors' Choice home goods deals. They comprised 24% of all the home goods deals we posted last Black Friday, compared to 3% for the rest of the year. Comparatively, Cyber Monday still saw an above average number of top-shelf deals, but the increase wasn't as dramatic as Black Friday.
The top stores for deals probably won't surprise you. Sears, Home Depot, Target, and Walmart provided the highest number of notable sales last year, and we are sure they will rank high again this Black Friday. Interestingly, Lowe's had very few deals last year; the store probably offered plenty of discounts, but rarely bested its competitors.
Expect Sears and Home Depot to take up to 80% off or more during Black Friday.
Even outside of Black Friday, we see some very impressive sales from home stores. Sears has already offered 80% off select items several times throughout 2015, while Home Depot took 77% off select items over the summer. Expect to see comparable discounts, or better, during the Black Friday season.
Kitchen Deals Will Be the Hottest
Editors' Choice deals on kitchen goods and appliances explode on Black Friday. While the rest of the year saw only 18% of kitchen deals earning that title, Black Friday had a whopping 44%.
Keep an eye out for normally expensive brands like KitchenAid and Pyrex. Last Black Friday, we found the coveted KitchenAid standing mixer for $141 after a rebate (and that was new, not refurbished) at Kohl's, while Pyrex dishes started at $10 for multi-piece sets. The best deal we saw at that price was for a 14-piece set, also after a rebate at Bon-Ton.

If you have your heart set on that expensive but oh-so-worth-it Dyson vacuum, this is usually a good time to get a steep discount. Last year, we saw new Dysons starting at $199 at Walmart. If you're willing to go for a factory refurb, we saw those starting at $160 from Dyson via eBay. (Those deals came with a 6-month Dyson-backed warranty.)
